Sunday June 17, 2007 Hey everyone, I got to Bagamoyo safely after a very long trip. It is paradise here and there are white sandy beaches and palm trees everywhere. The house we are staying at is surprisingly nice, as it was an old hotel that was converted so it has hotel style rooms. On the bad side, I lost my luggage and there is still no sign of it, although the staff says that it will be coming and that losing luggage is normal in Africa, so hopefully it'll show up soon. I will be working at the Kaole Primary School. We met the teachers today and got an idea of what we will be doing, apparently we are being put with the youngest children and it seems like most of the things we are doing is pretty remedial. The group I am with is really fun and we spend a lot of time on the beach in the afternoon. The town is very small and rural, with cows and chickens routinely walking aimlessly through the dirt roads near our house. I get up before 7am every morning because of the roosters that live in our courtyard. I will be able to write more soon but for the time being everything is good minus not having a bag.... hopefully that shows up soon. I do have about 3 days worth of clothes because I felt I might lose it when I saw my itinerary, so that has saved me. Thank goodness for carry on luggage.
